What is Nutritional Therapy?

The success of any natural therapy is greatly enhanced when accompanied by the right diet. Foods have the same therapeutic properties as herbs and medicines, they are just milder; however their nutritive properties are stronger. Foods should be consumed in as natural a state as possible. The more a food is processed and altered from its natural state, the more its vitality and nutritional value is compromised. Additives/preservatives further diminish the vital energy of foods.

Every time you eat or drink, you are either feeding disease or fighting it. By ensuring your body is getting all the nutrients it needs, and avoiding or helping it eliminate those that do it harm, we improve our health.
The body functions optimally in a state of balance (‘homeostasis’); when out of balance, symptoms/disease occur. A practitioner seeks out and addresses imbalances, helping your body restore homeostasis and health.

A nutritional therapist treats the individual and provides personally-tailored advice, which is evidence-based and accompanied by explanations as to why it is being given to you. The advice will also be practical and achievable, having taken into consideration your lifestyle.

EVERYONE! While it can help you once symptoms/disease have occurred, it can also prevent them from occurring in the future. No one has a perfect diet, including nutritionists! There are always improvements that can be made to everyone’s diet and lifestyle.
