Nicola RistBSc (Hons) Ost. Dip Sports Massage
Associate Osteopath & Sports Massage
Nicola is a registered osteopath having graduated in 2013 from a rigorous five year degree where she gained a detailed understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics of the human body.
Having also completed further post-graduate training in cranial osteopathy for all ages including babies, osteopathy during pregnancy, sports massage and taping techniques, Nicola is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.
She is passionate about osteopathy due to the immense benefits that patients experience from treatment. She enjoys using the vast variety of osteopathic techniques available and adapting her work to the different patient’s needs. Some patients need a very gentle treatment, for example, babies and pregnant women and some need techniques which can get a patient back to playing his/her favourite sport. She loves the philosophy behind osteopathic care which embraces the knowledge that the body responds best when it is treated as a whole. Pain in one area of the body can be as a result of a condition elsewhere in the body and poor posture can have detrimental effects on the entire musculoskeletal system.
Nicola is a working mum and after having experienced two pregnancies she is able to empathise and understand in detail the difficulties some women and their babies endure during and after pregnancy.
During her spare time Nicola enjoys keeping fit, seeing her friends and looking after her family.
